Brazil´s Cardoso will drive a Teo Martín Motorsport-entered Dallara F312 in the Euroformula Open next year
Teo Martín Motorsport has confirmed Brazilian Pedro Cardoso as one of their drivers in the Euroformula Open for 2017 season. Cardoso, aged 17 and born in Brasilia – one of the most important motorsport-related cities in Brazil-, arrives at Teo Martín Motorsport to move up to Formula 3. The young Brazilian ace had previously achieved success in karting before making steps into single-seater racing such as the Formula 4 South America or the MRF Challenge – Formula 2000. Cardoso sealed the title in the F.4 South America last year with seven wins and twelve podiums to his credit.
"I am extremely happy to sign with Teo Martín Motorsport. The reason we signed with the team is because we believe that they are in a good position to fight for the Euroformula Open championship, because we have all that's needed for it to happen, incredible structure and investment of Mr. Martin on the team, extremely serious and experienced team principal Mr. Emilio De Villota and overall top engineers and mechanics working alongside me. On top of all that, the Euroformula Open is a top level championship with strong equipment, best tracks on Europe and high level battles with the other teams and drivers”, Cardoso said.
Teo Martín added "we’re delighted to have Pedro on board as the first driver announced in our Euroformula Open line up. He is a fantastic asset to have and will no doubt show himself well from the very start of the 2017 season as he gains experience with a new car and a new challenge. He’s been working extremely hard this past season and I can’t wait to see what he is capable of in the Euroformula Open car”.
