Campos Racing has announced that Simo Laaksonen will join Petru Florescu, Matheus Iorio and Thiago Vivacqua for a full-season campaign in the Euroformula Open.
Despite his youth, whilst still only 18 years old, Laaksonen spent three season in several Formula 4-based series such as the Championnat de France F4, the SMP F4 championship or the ADAC Formel 4. The young Finn pilot has an extensive list of achievements to his credit over this period. On his official debut with Campos Racing in the Winter Series, which took place at Paul Ricard, Laaksonen displayed remarkable talent fighting for a top-5 finish.
Adrián Campos, Team Principal of Campos Racing, explained: “I'm delighted to have Simo at Campos Racing. His performance was outstanding at Paul Ricard and I'm sure he will be a regular podium visitor. Besides, I'm convinced he will be fighting for the title at the end of the season.”
