Felipe Drugovich commits to full-season EF Open programme with RP Motorsport

After his winning debut in the final race in Barcelona last year, Brazil’s talent is back with RP Motorsport

Felipe Drugovich becomes the most recent addition to the RP Motorsport’s line up. After a splendid debut in the Euroformula Open’s final round held at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya last year, which saw Drugovich storming to a first win in the series, RP Motorsport has confirmed him as its second signing for the eight-event championship.

Drugovich (May 13 2000, Maringá) has already proved himself on the international scene as he debuted in the 2016 ADAC Formula 4 championship. Later that season he took part in the MRF Challenge 2000 Championship securing a race win in Dubai. Drugovich emerged as a title contender in the 2017 ADAC Formula 4 ranking 3rd in the Drivers’ classification with seven wins and nine podium finishes to his name. The new driver of RP Motorsport also made a winning one-off Italian F4 Championship appearance at Vallelunga.

Drugovich says: "After my excellent debut last year, I immediately realized that RP Motorsport was for me the ideal team to continue my personal growth. The team was able to put me in the best conditions to be able to doing well and the success at the debut was an incredible result, but now we want to keep ourselves at high levels even during the next season. I know it will not be easy, because the competition is very strong, but I have the maximum confidence in the potential of the team.  I will give 110% on every weekend and try to learn everything very quickly, and it will also be a great honor to represent Brazil in this prestigious competition, having also a countryman like Guilherme Samaia at my side. I can’t wait to get on the track! ".

Niki Rocca added: "After having won both titles last season, our goal remains to be able to confirm this year too, so we decided to bet on a young and very fast driver like Felipe, who has already show his potential in Montmeló. It will be interesting to have a couple of Brazilian drivers with us, and of course we will do everything to put him and Samaia in the best conditions to be on top. We are ready to fight, starting from the winter tests ".
