Poland’s Karkosik will be the new addition to their three-car assault
Campos Racing has annnounced that Polish driver Alex Karkosik will drive one of their cars for the remaining seven rounds in the Euroformula Open. Karkosik will already defend the colors of Campos Racing in Le Castellet this coming weekend. Karkosik, aged 17, claimed the Formula Gulf Academy title in 2017 and scored several podium finishes in the MRF Challenge and the Euroformula Open. Earlier this year, Karkosik drove a Campos Racing-entered Dallara in the Winter Series achieving promising results. At Estoril, Karkosik drove for RP Motorsport.
Karkosik will join his new teammates Marcos Siebert and Yves Baltas at the Circuit Paul Ricard.
Karkosik underlines: “I'm really happy to be joining such a legendary team as Campos Racing which marks a new chapter in my career. It's an important step for me, which I hope will bring me closer to my biggest dream and the F1 paddock. After a successful Winter Series test in Jerez where we worked very well together and I was very fast, I have no doubts that the team of Adrian Campos will help me to show my full potential and fight for the top positions. We've spent two days preparing for the races in Paul Ricard in the team's HQ in Valencia, where I was able to train with the other drivers and work in the simulator. Both the infrastructure and the history of Campos Racing are very impressive and I'm sure we can go a long way together.”
Adrián Campos, Team Principal of Campos Racing, explains: “I should like to welcome Alex to Campos Racing, because we will make every effort to produce strong results together throughout the season, helping him to grow to his highest potential. With this in mind, I’m sure we will be able to assist Alex in the progression to upper formula racing categories, just like our current GP3 Series drivers who took their first steps with our team in the Euroformula F3 Open.”
