Ceccon, a former Euroformula driver turned into a WTCR star

Former Euroformula Open driver Kevin Ceccon wrote history in the FIA WTCR last weekend at Suzuka, taking the first win for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, twelve years after the last success of an Alfa in the world’s top series for touring cars.

Ceccon, now 25-years-old, was a top contender in the then European F.3 Open in 2009-10, moving later to AutoGP, GP3 and GP2. Last summer, he was called by Team Mulsanne to replace touring car legend Gianni Morbidelli at the wheel of one of their Giulietta in the FIA WTCR, scoring points since his debut in Slovakia. With Kevin at the wheel, the performance level of the car has grown steadily up to Suzuka, where he rounded the weekend with one pole, one race win and another podium finish.
