RP Motorsport, the reigning champion team in Euroformula Open, has revealed Javier González and Pierre-Louis Chovet as the first two drivers of its 2019 line-up.
González, 18, is a winner in French Formula 4 and a champion karter. The Mexican made his Euroformula debut at the end of last season, taking a best finish of fifth.
Chovet is also a winner in French F4, and the 17-year is a member of the Venturi Formula E team’s junior driver programme.
“We are very pleased to welcome two talented drivers into out team to compete in the 2019 season of Euroformula Open,” said RP Motorsport’s team manager Niki Rocca. “It is part of our DNA to focus on enabling young drivers to reach the highest levels of motorsports in their respective careers, as history has often shown.
"Javier and Pierre-Louis have proven to be able to go very fast in their previous experiences on the track, and we are sure that thanks also to the experience of our staff members, they will be able to make a further improvement.
"We are determined to defend both the titles won last year: we strongly believe in the project of this championship and we are ready as always to give 100% also during this season.”
The team is expected to announce a third driver shortly.
