GT Sport Organización that has created and runs the International GT Open and the Euroformula open, is a sports promotion company established in 1998 and based in Madrid that has progressively become one of the main race organizers on the European scene.
The company started with the creation of the Spanish / IBER GT Championship (1999) and the Spanish F3 Championship (2000), which later became the European F.3 Open and today is the Euroformula Open, having expanded at continental level. GT Sport also has organized mono-brand challenges in Spain and Portugal on behalf of manufacturers such as SEAT, Hyundai, Peugeot and Mini.
GT Sport’s capabilities and expertise has also been at the service of major international series and FIA championship, as the company is regularly hired as the local promotor inSpainfor events of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and the GP2 Series.
Through the years, GT Sport has gained an excellent professional reputation in several fields, including the management of TV production and coverage, the use of innovative marketing and communications tools, and the organization of non-motorsports related events, among which the Eco EDP Challenge. GT Sport also produced a motorsport TV weekly program, “Centímetros Cúbicos” on behalf of one of the major Spanish TV channels, Antena 3.
Founder and CEO of GT Sport is businessman and former racing driver Jesús Pareja, who has been a successful contender in GT and Sport races in the 80s and 90s.He won the 1000 km of Jerez (’86) and Suzuka (’94), the 4 hrs of Jarama and PaulRicard (’94), and finished 2nd overall in the 24 hrs of Le Mans (’86) and Daytona(’94).
