A second sunny day of test for the Euroformula at Spa

01.04.2021

The first collective pre-season test for Euroformula teams took place at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on March 31 and April 1, involving five teams and 12 cars.

It was Motopark’s Jak Crawford who set the fastest lap over the two days, a 2m09.814s in the surprisingly summery conditions in the Ardennes. His lap would have been fast enough to qualify near the front in one of the Euroformula races held at Spa last year.

Second fastest overall and the quickest driver on the first day of running was CryptoTower Racing Team’s Louis Foster, whose best lap was a 2m10.090s.

The top two had Spiess power in the back of their Dallara 320s, and the next two fastest drivers were using HWA-provided engines. In third place was Drivex School with its #29 car, and in fourth was Van Amersfoort Racing’s Casper Stevenson.

Next up on the timesheet was Nazim Azman (CryptoTower), Matthias Lüthen (Motopark), the second Double R Racing car and Filip Kaminiarz (CryptoTower). Double R also ran its 2021 signing Zdenek Chovanec, while Vivien Kaszthelyi (Motorpark) progressed steadily through the sessions in her first taste of Spa.

Euroformula is headed to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next for an official Winter Test on April 19-20 and will include all of the teams.
