Cameron Das fastest on second day of Euroformula Winter Test at Barcelona

20.04.2021

Euroformula’s official Winter Test at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya concluded on Tuesday in a variety of weather conditions.

Four test sessions took place during the day, and it was the early morning running that was the quickest for the drivers as sun beamed down on the circuit and there was a clear fast line rubbered in from the previous day’s action.

Cameron Das set the pace for Motopark, setting a 1m34.743s lap just over a minute before the chequered flag was waved and putting the American 0.584 seconds clear of CryptoTower Racing Team’s Louis Foster in second place.

Foster’s team-mate Filip Kaminiarz caused a red flag when his car stopped on track, and did so again later in the day with a spin in the final session. That was the only other bit of track time where the circuit conditions were matching that of the early morning as rain fell in the middle of the day and meant the laptimes were considerably slower.

Van Amersfoort Racing’s Casper Stevenson was fastest ahead of Das in session two before the rain arrived, while Foster set the pace in the wet third session just ahead of Rafael Villagomez (VAR) who had session-stopping issues twice during the day.

Jak Crawford (Motopark) set a scintillating pace at the end of the final session to go second fastest overall between Das and Foster, and the top five was completed by Villagomez and Stevenson.

Drivers will return to track on April 31 when the season begins at Algarve International Circuit on the support bill of Formula 1’s Portuguese Grand Prix.
