The provisional calendar for the 2022 Euroformula season has been unveiled, with eight rounds, all in top-tier F1 tracks, and the traditional pre-season Winter Test.
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will be host of the official pre-season test on March 16/17, which will give drivers and teams plenty of hours of track time to prepare for the year ahead.
Racing then gets underway on April 30 and May 1 at Algarve International Circuit in southern Portugal, which was also the venue of this year’s season opener.
Circuit Paul Ricard is the next location on the calendar on May 20-22, and the action ramps up with trips to Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (June 17-19) and the Hungaroring (July 8-10) which marks the halfway point of the season.
There’s a break of only a few days before the next round, as Euroformula returns to Mugello Circuit. The Italian track memorably featured on the 2020 calendar, and it provisionally holds a July 15-17 date for 2022.
A summer break of a month-and-a-half allows all of the competitors to recharge before heading to the Red Bull Ring on September 9-11, and then on to Autodromo Nazionale di Monza on September 23-25.
The season will conclude, as is tradition, on Spanish soil at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The October 15/16 weekend will determine the final championship standings, and be where the 14th champion of Euroformula is crowned.
