BVM Racing and Simonazzi add Barcelona to their plans

After an impressive return to the Euroformula Open at Monza, BVM Racing and his young recruit, Francesco Simonazzi (17) have decided to add the final round of the 2021 Euroformula Open at Barcelona to their programme. Initially, the team of Giuseppe Mazzotti planned a debut at Monza in preparation of a full 2022 campaign, but the good results obtained in Italy (Simonazzi finished the three races in the top-10, with a 6th as best results) despite the mileage handicap and the difficult conditions have led to the decision to field the Spiess-powered Dallara 320 also at Barcelona.

Giuseppe Mazzotti, BVM Racing team principal, commented: “After taking part to the Monza round, we have decided to repeat the experience at Barcelona, where we will have to take up the challenge of not having tested the car on that track. The objective is to gain experience and data ahead the next season.”

Francesco Simonazzi added: “I am very happy to be able to take part also in the last round of the 2021 season. At Monza, we went through a complicated weekend, but we kept improving and in Race 3, I could be in the fight, missing narrowly the top-5. At Barcelona, where we have no experience with this car, we will have to use at its best the day of private tests on Thursday.”
