Drivex announces Ayrton Simmons as its first driver for the Hungaroring round

After missing the Spa round, Drivex Team will be back in the Euroformula Open at the Hungaroring with its two Dallara 320 and a renewed driver line-up. The Spanish squad revealed today its first driver, with the second announcement foreseen on Monday.

Ayrton Simmons is the first driver named. A former British F.4 vice champion, the 21-year-old holding dual British and Spanish citizenship, is back to the Euroformula, where he already raced in 2020. Since then, he has made appearances in the European F3 and clinched runner-up honours in the 2021 GB3.

Ayrton Simmons stated:  “After being out of a car for many months, I cannot wait to join the team to get started. I will be giving it absolutely everything we have and more! The Michelin-shod, HWA-powered Dallara 320 is the best car I’ve driven in my career so far”.

Drivex team principal Miguel Ángel de Castro commented: “We’re so happy to have Ayrton Simmons in the team for the next round of the Euroformula Open in Hungary. Even though Simmons is a young racing driver, we’re so lucky to have him in the team, who will contribute with a lot of track experience. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but undoubtedly we’ll keep fighting to be on the top”.
