León confirms good form by taking pole at Red Bull Racing

Noel León took his fourth consecutive pole position in five rounds at the Red Bull Ring this morning. In another glorious summer day in Austria, the Mexican driver of Motopark posted a time of 1.23.568 and is determined to defend his championship lead in Race 1 later today.

“It’s a very nice track, I like it a lot, and everything went well, although I wasn’t very happy with my last attempt”, said León, “Here the toughest issue is to respect track limits and for that, there is only one way, not to push too hard.”

Right behind León came in the tzo debuting drivers of CryptoTower Racing Team, with Josh Dufek 0s232 behid and local hero Chrlie Wurz 0s312 behind. Joining the Austrian in Row 2 will be Cian Shields (-0s423), with Bryce Aron (-0s490) in third row alongside rookie contender Jakob Bergmeister (-2s706).

In fifth row will be the two Gold Cup contenders, Vladimir Netusil (Effective Racing) and Paolo Brajnik (NV Racing).

Francesco Simonazzi (BVM Racing) will start from the back of the grid having seen his best lap times cancelled for track limits.
