Michael Shin (Motopark) took the win in Race 3 at the Red Bull Ring, the only race held on dry conditions. The South Korean driver made a perfect use of the pole position in the reversed grid and led the entire race. He clinched his second success in the series and concluded in the best manner his experience in the Euroformula Open, as this was his last planned appearance.

“I am very happy to finish like this and of my experience in the Euroformula as a whole”, he commented. “It’s a great series and a terrific car and I enjoyed every moment spent here. The race was a little bit strange. It was nice to be racing on a dry track at last, but we had no references and managing tyre consumption was crucial. It all went well and I am really happy to finish on a high after the win at Hockenheim.”

Shin kept the advantage at the start, followed by Barrichello, Simonazzi and Pearson, who were in that order in the grid, but there was some fighting at turn 3 as usual, with Barrichello being victim of a contact, something that hindered his car’s performance, as he slid at the back of the field.

Francesco Simonazzi was running second for almost half of the race before being passed by Brad Benavides. They finished in that order to complete the podium, despite several attempts by the Italian to revert the positions. José Garfias passed Edward Pearson in the initial laps to take fourth, with Révész finishing sixth ahead of Barrichello.
