Francesco Simonazzi (BVM Racing) took his fifth success of the season in Race 2 at Barcelona, delaying the final verdict in the championship.
“It’s a track I like a lot and it is always nice to win here”, said Simonazzi, “especially after a start of the weekend not too easy.”
Simonazzi made a perfect use of his position in row 1 in the reversed grid, passing Vladislav Ryabov, who was sitting in pole, in the first lap. Benavides took second during that opening lap too, but shortly after had to concede the position to a very assertive Fernando Barrichello.
Those were eventually the podium, while behind the top three, Edward Pearson took a final fourth ahead of Ryabov and the two Mexican drivers, Garfias and Escotto.
