20.10.2024

Yevan David won the last race of the Euroformula Open season, taking his second success in his maiden weekend in the series. Race 3 at Monza took place again on a damp track, providing a lot of action, but the Sri Lankan of Motopark mastered all event.

“It’s been a wonderful weekend and experience for me”, he commented, “and who knows, maybe you’ll see more of me in the future.”

Petrov was sitting on pole for the last race but he was pushed straight into the chicane by Garfias at first braking, with Simonazzi also cutting the chicane. Garfias had to retire while David took the lead ahead of Barrichello and Benavides.

Shortly after there was a contact between Ryabov and Simonazzi, which forced the Russian-born to retire and the Italian to visit the pits, while the fight for the lead between Barichello and David saw the two exchanging positions before the Sri Lankan could emerge and fly towards a second win.

With a great recovery from the back, Bergmeister took third ahead of Benavides and Gold Cup hero Roubicek.
