The plans for the introduction of the new Dallara 324 and the new Tom’s engine, which will mark the start of a new cycle for the Euroformula Open this season, are rolling out nicely.
Last week the first 14 units of the Tom’s TGE33 engine arrived in Spain. They are currently being fitted with the peripherical and ancillary systems and bench-tested at the Motor & Sport Institute facilities near Madrid, under the supervision of GT Sport technical personnel, who will be joined in the forthcoming days by Tom’s and Cosworth colleagues to oversee the electronic systems. Four more engines will arrive from Japan in the forthcoming weeks.
The first two engines will be sent to the Dallara factory in Italy to be mounted in the 2025 cars (one 324 and one updated 320 chassis) and check everything is working well, then all engines will be delivered to customers.
As planned, the first 10 cars will be delivered to customers throughout February according to the order of purchase, followed shortly after by a second production run.
The first official outing for the new cars will be at the pre-season Winter Test at Barcelona on 24-26 March, with teams having of course the possibility to shake down and test the cars privately before that.
The renewed Euroformula Open continues to attract great interest in the single-seater formulae community, with greater grids expected from this first season.
