The new Tom’s-powered Dallaras 324 of the 2025 Euroformula Open took the track for a first official session today at Barcelona in the first of the three days of the pre-season Winter Test.
It was an intense working session, with technical personnel from Dallara, Tom’s and Cosworth working with their colleagues of the two teams present, Team Motopark and Nielsen Racing. For the British squad, which is joining the series this year and is debuting with single-seaters, it was a particularly busy day, as they were delivered their cars only a few days ago.
The day included three sessions of 1:20 hours, with the first two held on a dry track and the third under heavy rain, as weather continues to be unusually unstable in Spain these weeks.
Although lap times were not the prime objective today, but at the end of the three sessions, Mexico’s Jose Garfias (Motopark), who debuted in the Euroformula at the end of last season, was the fastest driver on track, with a time of 1.33.126 posted in the first (and warmest ) session. He beat US rookie Everett tack by 0s275 and two other Motopark drivers with previous experience in the series, Fernando Barrichello (+0s687) and Yevan David (+1s006). The latter was the fastest man in the wet (1.48.968).
Once preparatory work was finished, two of the Nielsen Motorsport cars took the track with immediate good feedback, with Ed Pearson second and Shawn Rashid second and sixth respectively in the the third session.
