Lomko (CryptoTower) makes it 3 in action-packed Race 2 at Red Bull Ring

Vlad Lomko (Cryptoµtower) took a superb third win of the season in a very lively Race 2 this morning at the Red Bull Ring. The Franco-Russian beat Francesco Simonazzi (BVM Racing), who had a very strong end of the race, and Josh Mason (CryptoTower), who led in the first laps. Interestingly, all these three drivers got a penalty during the race, but this did not change the final result.

It’s Simmons in pole on the reversed grid of Race 2, with Goethe last as he got penalized with ten grid positions because a third reprimand in 2 events for weavering.

Simmons has a perfect kick-off as Mansell goes wide in turn 1 and 3. Mason is second ahead of Lomko and Lubin, with the first four very close and fighting hard in the first couple of laps. Mansell is fifth ahead of Goethe and Simonazzi. Nogales, who started from the pits, has to return to boxes because of a technical issue.

Mason attacks Simmons but the Drivex driver resists, with Lomko a close third. In lap 6, Mason touches Simmons, who drops to fourth, but get a 3-second penalty for his action and one lap later, he is passed by Lomko, while simonazzi overtakes Goethe.

In lap 8, Mansell passes Simmons, with Simonazzi doing the same shortly after.

In lap 10, Lomko is ahead of Mason (not counting the penalty), Lubin, Mansell, Simonazzi an Goethe, while Simmons has dropped to 7th.  There are penalties (2 seconds) for Lomko and Simonazi, for abusing track limits. García stops in the pits in lap 12.

In lap 16, Mansell passes Lubin, followed by Simonazzi , who with a strong end of race overtakes also the Australian to take final P2 behind Lomko and ahead of Mason. Followed Lubin, Mansell and Goethe.
